Held annually the Constructing Excellence Awards are a celebration of everything the Built Environment has to be proud of.
Organised by the School of Built Environment, Engineering and Computing at Leeds Beckett University, the Constructing Excellence Yorkshire and Humber Awards focus attention on some of the most important issues in the construction sector.
All types of organisations enter our awards each year including private and public sector, micro, SME and large contractors, designers, consultants, clients and suppliers; in fact anyone who is part of the built environment’s extended family. It is completely free to enter and the winners of each of our regional awards categories then go to represent Yorkshire and Humber at the national Constructing Excellence Awards later in the year.
WHY GET INVOLVED?
These awards have always been more than just an opportunity to celebrate with your teams. They are about showcasing the organisations, projects and talent across the region that are delivering excellence, driving change and inspiring others to adopt new and better ways of working.

We recognise that Yorkshire and Humber is unique and that the skills, talent and innovation in this region deserve a ceremony that offers much more than your average industry awards "do". With creative theming, dynamic hosting and a commitment to showing all our shortlisted entries in the best possible light, our awards has become one of the region's MUST attend events.
OUR 2025 THEME
This year we swap high vis for high voltage and celebrate the innovative teams building tomorrow's world against a backdrop of chrome skylines, sunset highways and a nod to retrofuturism - all soundtracked by the synth pop and electronic dance music that defined the era. This evening is more than a dinner — it’s a tribute to those who construct not just buildings or bridges, but legacies.
As always the dress code is black tie but we encourage our guests to embrace the theme in any way they see fit whether through colours or accessories or just by joining our DJ on the dancefloor who will be spinning the tunes after the awards have been handed out.
The 2025 gala awards ceremony will take place on Thursday 17th July 2025 at New Dock Hall at the Royal Armouries in Leeds.
